Principle Functional Responsibilities
The QA lab tech is responsible for overseeing laboratory-based tasks to ensure compliance to customer product requirements and provide data for analysis and product non-conformance root cause investigations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, sampling, testing, inspecting, measuring, recording and analyzing results to ensure product compliance to industry standards and customer/engineering specifications. This position is also responsible for providing guidance and recommendations to the manufacturing floor based on test data to support continuous improvement and non-conformance root cause investigations:

- Provides recommendations and guidance to manufacturing floor based on precise data analysis and interpretation of industry standards
- Oversees laboratory tests in order to produce reliable and precise data to ensure compliance to industry standards and customer/engineering specifications
- Engages in Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, especially those which can save time and improve QA lab reliability
- Provides all the required technical support to enable the laboratory to function effectively
- Selects products for tests at specified stages in production process, and tests for
- Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials or
- Confers with management and engineering staff to determine conformance to applicable specifications and standards
- Applies strict adherence to correct procedures and safety guidelines during testing
- Records and evaluates test data and documents deviations from standards
- Enters data into computer for analysis¬
- Carries out routine tasks timely and accurately following strict methodologies
- Performs other tasks that are reasonable to the job as requested by Direct
Key Requirements
- A result driven individual who has demonstrated ability working in a high-performance manufacturing environment
- Must be able to manage constantly changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Proven experience in manufacturing management
- Must have good attention to details, but be able to manage the big picture
- Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis
- Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement
- Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Solid planning, leadership, computer, and administrative skills
- High energy; demonstrates urgency and fast pace
- 2 – 4 years’ experience in wire and cable or related industry
- Experience with various computer software systems
- Project management skills and familiar with Lean Manufacturing tools
