Specialties Products Specialist - Crane, Generator, and Solar

This role is within Prysmian North America’s Industrial Specialties business unit, dedicated to providing low and medium voltage bulk cable supply to OEMs and Distributors for a variety of specialty markets.

Reporting to the Market Manager, the Product Specialist is accountable for managing elements of pricing strategy, working capital, and customer satisfaction programs, among other responsibilities. The Product Specialist will work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering, Procurement, and other Business Team members. Responsibilities include monitoring the performance of assigned product lines, taking action to achieve sales goals, operating profit, working capital plan, and recommending alternative strategies or tactics to improve product line performance.

Responsibilities

Price and profitability ownership

• Coordinate with outside sales on strategic pricing management for assigned customer base, including routine administration of price changes to customers based on cost changes by vendors in coordination with purchasing
• Support inside sales in administrating pricing accurately throughout full inquiry-to-cash cycle
• Create and maintain all positions and processes supporting metals management
• Lead continuous improvement activities focused on quotation effectiveness and profitability maintenance
• Responsibility for system price sheets and product attributes system infrastructure
  
  

Strategic working capital management

• Responsibility for strategic working capital management coordination with supply chain, purchasing and sales to align raw material, WIP, and finished good strategies with needs of the business for defined customer base
• Maintain standard monthly slow-moving and obsolete inventory cycle
  
  

Customer satisfaction

• Maintain solid customer relationships including leading specified customer facing conversations and supporting inside sales in day to day customer and agent requests
• Manage claims process for defined customers. Develop processes and guidelines for all key functions to optimize turnaround and customer satisfaction as well as profit protection
  
  

Cross-functional leadership

• Able to develop and leverage highly productive working relationships across essentially all business functions both in US HQ (Highland Heights, KY) and with various production facilities across the country
• Go-to for “next level” problem solving / conflict resolution on delivery issues, customer conflicts, quality issues, working with Supply Chain, Engineering, Plant Management, Logistics, etc. to effectively resolve problems
• Drive clarity and ownership of key processes by developing objective, actional reports and analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelors within Business, Engineering or related field
• Outstanding verbal and written communication with peers and upper management
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience working in and leading cross-functional teams
• Microsoft Excel moderate skill (advanced skill preferred)
• Project management experience
• Experience with AS400/HFA ERP, Business Objects, DB2 Webquery, Sharepoint workflows, SAP
• Ability to travel approximately 5-10%
