Position Overview: The Quality Manager will play a pivotal role in maintaining and enhancing the quality management system for machined parts production. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality assurance, particularly in the field of machined parts, and possess hands-on experience with Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures for machined parts production.
- Oversee the inspection and testing of machined parts to ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other advanced metrology equipment to perform accurate dimensional inspections and ensure product conformance.
- Lead the PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities, including the preparation of documentation, submission to customers, and resolution of any quality-related issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality non-conformances and improve process efficiency.
- Provide guidance and support to production personnel on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality metrics to track performance trends, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, audits, and quality-related issues, ensuring prompt resolution and maintaining positive customer relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in a manufacturing environment specializing in machined parts.
- Proficiency in operating Zeiss Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and familiarity with other metrology equipment and inspection techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of quality management systems, including ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards.
- Experience leading PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) activities and familiarity with APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) methodologies.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proven leadership abilities with a track record of successfully managing quality assurance teams and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Certification(s) in quality management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma) is a plus.
