What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Automation Designer position at PSEG?
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team in the Nuclear Power Plant department. As a Principal Automation Designer, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing automation systems for our nuclear power plants.
Your primary responsibilities will include qualifying for and fulfilling the LRE role, establishing modification scope, and managing technical supplier teams. You will also be responsible for performing owners acceptance reviews, scheduling and coordinating engineering resources, and interfacing with project managers to ensure that engineering deliverables meet overall project goals.
To be successful in this role, you must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, be able to work effectively with a team, and independently multitask and resolve conflicting priorities. Preferred qualifications include power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR), prior design engineering configuration control qualification, and professional engineering licensure.
In addition to your technical expertise, you should be able to interface with project managers, schedule and coordinate engineering resources, and provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
