POSITION SUMMARY:
The Cost Accountant is responsible for the standard costs accuracy in Oracle. Position responsibilities include working closely with Manufacturing to validate standards and overhead allocation, completing end-of-the-month variance analysis, and providing management reporting on results. The position will have input into new product pricing and be responsible for measuring expected and actual profitability of new products. In addition, this role will work cross-functionally with Supply Chain to reduce accounts payable exceptions. This position is also responsible for the accurate assessment and distribution of costs to Profitability Analysis, including training and management reporting.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Responsible for Standard Product Costing in Oracle.
- Develop appropriate standards and rates.
- Manufacturing overhead analysis.
- P&L Manufacturing Variance Analysis.
- Annual standard cost updating in ERP.

Performs Profitability Analysis in Oracle
- Assessments and Distributions to Profitability Analysis.
- Management reporting.
- Monitors inventory adjustments and responsible for scrap reserves.
- Performs general ledger account reconciliations, focusing on inventory accounts.
- Conducts necessary tasks around annual Physical Inventory and Cycle Counting activities.
- Conducts cost estimating related to product pricing and related profitablity.
- Assists Sourcing and Manufacturing in identifying cost reduction opportunities.
- Performs analysis that connects cost saving initiatives to the results of the company.
- Reviewss GL account coding for accuracy on A/P invoice processing and maintains approval matrixes for Hydro site.
- Coordinates with Shared Services and Supply Chain teams to facilitate payment processing.
- Liaises and works co-operatively with functional business teams and other inter-company sites.
- Participates in, and lead special projects and process improvement activities as required.
- Performs other job duties as assigned to meet business needs.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing setting in Cost Accounting or Product/Manufacturing with cost responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Experienced with ERP systems (prefer Oracle) – capable of handling accounting duties within an ERP environment.
- Strong analytical skills – Ability to perform financial analysis and support business decisions.

Salary Range : $75,000.00 - $98,000.00
