A well-established 10-person law firm in Oakland’s business district is seeking a Client Services Professional to join their team on a contract to hire or direct hire basis. This role is essential in ensuring seamless client intake, assessing prospective clients, and managing the onboarding process. The ideal candidate will be client-focused, detail-oriented, and proactive in supporting the firm’s attorneys and overall operations. The hourly pay rate is between $28.00 - $33.00 depending on experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as the first point of contact for prospective clients, conducting initial assessments to determine fit, discussing service terms, and explaining costs.
- Follow up with leads, upsell the firm’s successes, and play a key role in closing new clients.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings with attorneys, run conflict checks, and ensure all necessary paperwork and payments are collected.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to client onboarding, ensuring all required documentation is submitted and up to date.
- File legal documents with the court electronically and in person at surrounding courthouses and provide general support to office operations as needed.
- Identify and define process improvements to workflows as needed
- Strong communication and client service skills; ability to engage professionally and persuasively with prospective clients.
- Ability to have a consistent daily presence in office.
- Experience in a law firm or professional services environment preferred.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Comfortable with administrative tasks, scheduling, and document management.
- Proficiency in standard office software and legal practice management systems (preferred).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May be tasked with lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs., if able to do so.
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time and walk/stand for moderate periods of time.
- Must be able to bend at the knees and waist frequently
- Must be able to repetitively use a telephone and a computer mouse and keyboard.
