Assistant Project Manager-LGA

Required general knowledge for the Assistant Project Manager - LGA position includes:

• Understanding various phases of high-speed rail project development.
• Specific knowledge of preliminary and detailed design phases for civil works (alignment, earthworks, drainage, structures, road and public utility diversions, construction methods).
• Coordination with rail systems (track, power supply, overhead contact line, signaling, telecommunications).
• Knowledge of train operations, construction scheduling, and testing and commissioning.

Job Summary:

• The California Licensed Engineer, under the direction of the Supervising Transportation Engineer, will support the Locally Generated Alternative Team by overseeing technical designs for engineering documents and managing tasks within the design contract. They will ensure contracts comply with policies and regulations and assist in the design oversight of utility and local facility relocations affected by the project.

Responsibilities:

• Overseeing technical design for engineering plans, calculations, and reports.
• Performing quality assurance and verification inspections of deliverables.
• Providing technical support for document analysis and interpretation to meet various engineering and local agency requirements.
• Supporting concurrent reviews with the Supervising Transportation Engineer.
• Offering feedback on innovative technical approaches to ensure project milestones and quality deliverables.
• Coordinating and soliciting feedback from internal and external stakeholders.
• Documenting meetings and managing information dissemination and certification.
• Reviewing and providing feedback on draft changes to engineering design documents.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks.
• Performing other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong organizational skills
