What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Operations Full-Time Intern position at PSSI Stadium LLC?
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive individual to assist the Executive Director of Security in overseeing all security-related operations at Acrisure Stadium, the Steelers’ South Side Training Facility, and other enterprise properties. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of all events, including regular workdays, game days (for both the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Steelers), concerts, and major stadium events. The Security Operations Full-Time Intern will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to security management, technology acquisition, coordination, training, and policy development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Security Operations Support:
- Assist in managing all security-related matters for Acrisure Stadium, the Steelers’ South Side Training Facility, and other enterprise properties during regular workdays, game days, concerts, and other major events
- Assist with contract event management services to ensure proper security procedures and protocols are followed.
- Assist in managing the stadium’s 24/7 Control Room, ensuring seamless monitoring of security operations.
- Assist in coordination of off-duty police, fire, EMS, and other city services for gamedays and concerts.
- Assist in the oversight and maintenance of the stadium’s video camera network, gate lock procedures, access control systems, and alarm systems.
- Security Technology Management:
- Support the acquisition and operation of new security technologies, including anti-drone technology, next-generation threat detection systems (such as Garrett metal detectors, Evolv, and CEIA Open Gate detection systems), Wicket facial recognition systems, and next-generation credentialing technology.
- Coordination with NFL League Security:
- Assist in coordination with NFL League Security for administrative tasks, game-day operations, and conducting no-notice security audits.
- Emergency Operations Planning:
- Collaborate with Stadium Operations to ensure comprehensive emergency operations planning and readiness.
- Training and Development:
- Assist in organizing and supporting training programs related to active shooter situations, first aid, emergency notifications, and other relevant security training initiatives.
- Policy and Procedure Development:
- Contribute to the development, revision, and implementation of applicable security policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Requirements:
- Excellent technical, writing, communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including frequent weekends and holidays to align with the college and professional football schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience or interest in security technology, emergency response planning, and large-scale event coordination is preferred.
Work Environment:
- The position will require close coordination with various internal and external stakeholders, including NFL officials, city services, and stadium operations teams.
- This position is in person at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, PA.
