We are growing and adding a Technical Market Development Manager. This role will work alongside, and report to the Head of Products and Sustainability, and will identify new market opportunities, lead R&D projects, build client relationships, and expand our market presence.


This is a great opportunity for someone who has a technical background in the light metals industry seeking a commercial role in customer relations, R&D project management, product launches, and sustainability strategy.



CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct market analysis to identify potential OEM and Tier 1 customers in targeted sectors (e.g., automotive, aerospace, or other light metals applications).
  • Develop tailored value propositions and sales strategies to attract new customers, with a focus on showcasing the company's low-carbon footprint and R&D solutions.
  • Build long-term relationships with decision-makers at target organizations, ensuring continuous communication and support for ongoing customer needs.
  • R&D project coordination: Lead, manage and participate in research and development projects and activities with our customers aimed at creating new alloys and solutions for the automotive industry.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to customers during the new material qualification, addressing any issues and offering solutions to improve efficiency and product quality.
  • Lead the customer segmentation exercises with sales for all PSW business
  • Execute the product strategy and act as a key advocate for PSW’s sustainable products in customer-facing interactions and industry events.
  • Work closely with R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to ensure the product portfolio is competitive, meets market trends.
  • Coordinate the sustainability audits, carbon footprint calculation exercise, 3rd party certification, etc.
  • Assist PSW's new sustainable product lines' launching.
  • Working closely with PSW's sale force to generate a target list for potential green product premium.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field (MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred).
  • 3 years experience in technical marketing technical sales, market development, business development, or a similar role.
  • Established connections with automotive, aerospace, or defense OEMs.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market insights.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of sustainability practices, framework, standards and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Hands on experience and deep technical understanding of high pressure die casting process for aluminum and/or magnesium alloys.
  • Working experience in EV companies a plus.
  • Excellent presentation skills and frequent speakers at conferences and events.
