PsyGenics, Inc., a rapidly growing service provider specializing in serving the developmentally disabled is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Psychologist. An integral part of PsyGenics Team, the Psychologist is responsible for ensuring all service needs of a consumer are met as well as providing assurance of a Person-Centered Plan, monitoring established goals and implementation of various treatment plans in conjunction with support staff.
Qualifications
- Masters degree in Psychology from an accredited college or university.
- TLLP , LLP or LP licensure in Psychology with the State of Michigan in good standing.
- Police and DHS clearance.
- Experience with persons with developmental disabilities and/or experience with persons with a Traumatic Brain Injury.
- Experience with persons with serious mental health issues.
- Must meet criteria for appropriate credentialing as a Children’s Mental Health Professional, Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professional and a Qualified Mental Health Professional.
- Additional requirements include: a nonjudgmental approach that reflects cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and diverse experiences of individual families, the ability to engage and maintain clinical relationships with families, the ability to develop collaborative relationships with other providers, effective interpersonal communication skills, the ability to assess and intervene within complex family and community systems, and a willingness to be flexible, patient and creative.
Position Summary
The Psychologist is responsible for psychological evaluations of consumers including administration and the interpretation of psychometric instruments while providing direct services to agency consumers. The psychologist is also responsible for the development of measurable and objective treatment goals and plans in accordance with Person Centered Planning, thorough assessments, individual counseling, parent training, family training, behavior modifications plans, and crisis intervention. The Psychologist must also participate as an active member of the Behavior Treatment Committee and maintain all requirements of said committee.
Specific Responsibilities
- Administer psychological evaluations of consumers, interpret and create written report
- Provide consultation to staff regarding consumer, treatment plan, environmental considerations as well all applicable considerations
- Provide direct therapeutic intervention to individuals and families
- Conduct staff in-services specific to consumer served to assigned direct care staff
- Monitor implementation of treatment plan by team members, consumer and family
- Obtain, analyze and evaluate significant data so as to develop service plans and construct programs utilizing a combination of treatment modalities and skills
- Provide support services to individuals and families
- Develop and maintain written records necessary for professional practice as defined in the policy and procedural manual.
- Represent PsyGenics Inc. in the community
- Conduct community outreach and education
- Act as an advocate on behalf of consumer
- Complete guardianship process and testify in court
- Perform similar or related duties as assigned
