What are the responsibilities and job description for the PRN Float Physical Therapist Assistant - Outpatient position at PT Solutions Physical Therapy?
PT Solutions is looking for a PRN Float Physical Therapist Assistant to support the clinics in North Atlanta (Decatur, Morningside, Emory Point, Buckhead, Brookhaven area). This role involves direct patient care, performing therapeutic exercises, and assisting with modalities under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. The PRN PTA works on an as-needed basis, covering shifts or helping during busy times.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in Patient Treatment:
- Implement physical therapy treatment plans as developed by the supervising physical therapist.
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, stretching, and other activities to improve mobility and strength.
Patient Monitoring & Documentation:
- Monitor patient progress during treatment sessions and communicate any changes or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
- Document patient responses to treatment, progress toward goals, and any adverse reactions in electronic health records (EHR).
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient charts in compliance with facility policies and legal requirements.
Assist in Patient Education:
- Educate patients and families on exercises, techniques, and proper body mechanics to facilitate recovery and prevent injury.
- Provide guidance on at-home exercises and other self-care techniques as instructed by the physical therapist.
Collaboration with Physical Therapists:
- Work closely with the physical therapist to develop and modify treatment plans based on patient progress.
- Assist with patient reassessments and make recommendations for changes in treatment as needed.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an APTA or CAPTE approved physical therapist assistant program
- State Licensure
- Basic Life Support Certification via the American Heart Association
Clinic Hours: Monday- Thursday 7:00am-7:00pm, Friday 7:00am-5:00pm
Pay Rate: $26-$36/hr
