Job Summary
Private physical therapy practice with a patient centered approach in Creve Coeur hiring for a Medical Billing Coordinator/Receptionist position.
Part-time candidates will be considered.
This is a hybrid position with 2 days in office and 1-2 days working from home.
You will be the first person people interact with when they come into the office; therefore, you must have excellent customer service skills and always wear a smile. Prospective applicants should work well under pressure and have great time management skills. The applicant must have the ability to use a computer system efficiently. Attention to detail is a must. The applicant must have excellent and effective communication skills, a strong work ethic, an appreciation for a team approach, and a willingness to assist when and where needed in the office. This is a crucial role in our office and the applicant must be dependable and punctual. Responsibilities
- Review billing data for accuracy and completeness
- Handle inquiries related to billing from clients and internal teams
- Maintain organized records of all billing transactions
- Exhibit excellent phone etiquette when communicating with clients
- Greet and assist patients in person and on the phone
- Schedule patient appointments and procedures
- Screen telephone calls, take messages, follow-up and communicate with the appropriate individuals including documentation in the EMR
- Perform patient check in and check out procedures
- Perform eligibility and obtain precertification/referrals as necessary
- Coordinate with billing department regarding patients’ financial responsibility and payments
- Update patient demographic and insurance information
- Maintain organized and accurate records for the practice, utilizing time efficiently and effectively
- Collect copays, co-insurance and other patient payments
- Process Medical Records
- Make collection calls on balances
- Performs other functions as necessary
- Maintains the privacy of patient information and security of all records
- Maintains standards of compliance with regulatory agencies
Requirements
- Proven experience in billing or a related field is preferred
- Strong computer literacy with proficiency in office software applications
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to manage office tasks efficiently, including calendar management
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work
