Job Description Job Description Full-Time Heavy Line Mechanic – Join Pittsburgh Transportation Group!Pittsburgh Transportation is looking for an experienced, full-time Heavy Line Mechanic to perform daily maintenance and repairs on our fleet of company vehicles. This position is Monday through Friday, from 6 : 00 AM to 2 : 30 PM. A Pennsylvania CDL license, State Inspection License, and the ability to pass a DOT physical are required.Position Overview of a Heavy Line Mechanic : As a Heavy Line Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting interior and exterior repairs, services, and maintenance on our fleet of vehicles, ensuring they remain in safe and reliable working condition.Key Responsibilities of a Heavy Line Mechanic : Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and machinery.Inspect and adjust protective guards, belts, and safety devices on vehicles.Examine brake systems, steering mechanisms, and other essential components to ensure proper operation.Conduct timely vehicle inspections and services.Complete necessary repairs on fleet vehicles.Oversee the proper recovery of vehicles when applicable.Perform essential road tests to identify and address vehicle issues.Ensure updates are made according to specifications.Maintain tools and workspace, keeping the shop neat and organized.Perform other duties as assigned by management.Qualifications of a Heavy Line Mechanic : Education : High school diploma or GED.Experience : 1-3 years of experience in a CDL mechanic role (preferred).Skills & Abilities of a Heavy Line Mechanic : Computer Skills : Basic proficiency with computers.Certifications & Licenses : CDL License (required)State Inspection License (required)ASE certifications (preferred)If you’re a skilled Heavy Line Mechanic with a passion for keeping vehicles in top condition, we encourage you to apply today and become a part of the Pittsburgh Transportation team!
