What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machine (PFAB) Maintenance position at Ptmw Incorporated?
PTMW, Inc., a leader in the rail and communication industries, is seeking a skilled and motivated Pre-Fabrication (PFAB) Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our production equipment operates efficiently to support our commitment to quality and on-time delivery. This position will work overnight 6:00pm-6:00am Thursday-Saturday rotating every other Wednesday.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the fabrication equipment. Equipment includes Press Brakes, Punch/Shear machines, CO2 Laser/Punch machine, Roll Form machine, CNC Router, Robotic loading and material handling of various workshop equipment. Brands include Prima Power, Schroeder, Bradbury and Bystronic.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop a thorough understanding of equipment operations to effectively diagnose machine failures.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Update and maintain the Preventative Maintenance database.
- Install and replace punches and dies for machinery.
- Operate a surface grinder for sharpening punches and dies.
- Conduct building maintenance as needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Valid drivers license
- A detail-oriented, ownership attitude toward work.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work additional hours (overtime) to meet demand as needed
- Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical capacity test, and breath alcohol.
Preferred:
- Either a vocational/technical degree in industrial maintenance or 1 year of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing plant
- Experience with turret punch presses, press brakes, or roll form sheet metal processing machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of CNC controls and experience diagnosing and repairing PLC-controlled electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with frequency drives.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel and Access is helpful.
