PTMW, Inc., a leader in the rail and communication industries, is seeking a skilled and motivated Pre-Fabrication (PFAB) Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring our production equipment operates efficiently to support our commitment to quality and on-time delivery.
Maintenance Technicians are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the fabrication equipment. Equipment includes Press Brakes, Punch/Shear machines, CO2 Laser/Punch machine, Roll Form machine, CNC Router, Robotic loading and material handling of various workshop equipment. Brands include Prima Power, Schroeder, Bradbury and Bystronic. The Lead Maintenance Technician completes the above, as well as oversees the other maintenance technicians on the shift to ensure everyone is working together to support the companys commitments through their leadership and coaching.
Primary Responsibilities:
Safety:
- Ensure safe working conditions for all employees.
- Maintain clean, neat, and organized work areas.
- Properly identify and segregate non-conforming parts; clear areas daily.
- Ensure monthly safety videos are completed on time.
Production
- Develop a thorough understanding of equipment operations to effectively diagnose machine failures.
- Perform scheduled maintenance tasks promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Update and maintain the Preventative Maintenance database.
- Install and replace punches and dies for machinery.
- Operate a surface grinder for sharpening punches and dies.
- Conduct building maintenance as needed.
Training, Leadership and Teamwork
- Oversee thorough and timely new hire training.
- Utilize coaching and feedback to drive team performance.
- Ensure proper handoff communication between shifts.
- Complete daily balancing.

Required:

- Ability to work additional hours (overtime) to meet demand as needed
- Capable of lifting up to 100 lbs
- Ability to pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical capacity test, and breath alcohol.
Preferred:
- Either a vocational/technical degree in industrial maintenance or 1 year of industrial maintenance in a manufacturing plant
- Experience with turret punch presses, press brakes, or roll form sheet metal processing machines is a plus.
- Knowledge of CNC controls and experience diagnosing and repairing PLC-controlled electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with frequency drives.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Excel and Access
