Sr Technical Lead/ Architect

Position Title: SAP SAC Reporting Configuration Engineer

Location: Remote

Duration: 8 months contract with extension / Contract to Hire

Job Introduction: We are seeking a highly skilled Principal SAP SAC Reporting Configuration Engineer to join our Record to Report (R2R) team within the OneGL program. This role involves analyzing, developing, and configuring new use cases utilizing SAP Reporting tools. The ideal candidate will support production users and configure, test, and train to maintain and enhance the OneGL finance environment, particularly for the financial month-end close process. As a technical expert, you will analyze complex problems, implement solutions, and mentor junior team members.

About the Job:

• Configure single modules according to defined design specifications with a deep understanding of transactions and configuration options for business processes.
• Identify and coordinate interdependencies within modules to positively impact development activities.
• Document architecture development and standards.
• Assist in developing programs within business processes (e.g., interfaces, conversion, customizations).
• Participate in development for business processes, utilizing offshore/near-shore capabilities.
• Identify business process improvements to address complex functional and technology gaps.
• Provide consultation on technology-enabled recommendations within business processes.
• Contribute to design elements of new business processes and package application designs.
• Design functional and technical requirements (e.g., gap analysis, infrastructure, interfaces, reports, enhancements).
• Develop complex test scripts and assist in coordinating test transactional data creation.
• Research and identify complex testing defects.
• Build and deliver final test scripts for business processes.
• Support implementation processes, including post-implementation support, cutover plans, and transition planning.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
  
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8 years of techno-functional SAP Finance experience.
• 2-3 years of proven experience as an SAP Reporting Analyst, Developer, or Consultant with successful implementations and system evolution.
• Hands-on experience with SAP reporting tools (Analysis for Office, Web Intelligence, SAP Analytics Cloud).
• Proficiency in building Core Data Services (CDS) views using ABAP development tools in Eclipse.
• Strong understanding of financial transactional flow and SAP general ledger concepts (company codes, chart of accounts, ledgers, cost centers, currencies).
• Comprehensive knowledge of finance business processes with minimal customization.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of collaboration across multiple organizations and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with ambiguous information.
• Familiarity with agile software development concepts, including backlog tracking, prioritization, and incremental delivery.
• Proactive mindset with consultative skills to understand and apply customer requirements.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Training in reporting and other SAP modules.
• Experience within the Insurance or Finance industry.
• Familiarity with Financial Product Subledger (FPSL), FI/CO, and PaPM modules.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4 Embedded analytics.
• Experience with SAP BW, SAP BPC, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP HANA SQL, OData Services, and other cloud applications.
• Good knowledge of data modeling and ETL processes.
  
  

Additional Details:

• Location: Remote (Preference for candidates within 50 miles of Boston, MA, Portsmouth, NH, or Plano, TX; hybrid model with 2 days/week in the office).
• Duration: Long-term, contract to hire.
• Contract to Hire: Yes.
• Interview Process: Three rounds of panel interviews.

• Disqualifiers: Short-term job history, excessive misspellings, and lack of SAP reporting experience.

Pay Range: $90/HR - $114/HR on W2

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
