Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing electrical construction packages and associated documentation. This role includes creating single-line drawings, motor schematics, equipment layouts, conduit layouts, and interlock details. The position requires field walkdowns, verifying work prior to design, and leading drawing package reviews.
The Electrical Designer will also work closely with engineering firms to support external design efforts at the refinery. Responsibilities will include assisting in locating reference drawings, ensuring compliance with refinery design standards, and managing the submission of final deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop electrical construction packages, including single-line drawings, motor schematics, equipment and conduit layouts, and interlock details.
- Perform field walkdowns to verify designs and ensure accuracy.
- Lead drawing package reviews across all stages of development.
- Utilize AutoCAD to produce and update drawings in compliance with refinery protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering firms to support external design efforts and ensure quality control on design packages.
- Ensure all submitted design packages meet refinery standards and requirements.
- Oversee the proper submission of final deliverables, maintaining communication with contractors and internal teams.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 3 years in a refinery or heavy industrial plant environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of refinery design requirements and standards.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to lead design reviews and interface with contractors and external teams.
