Encroachment Engineer (Contract β Potential to Permanent)
Eligibility: Must be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
Type: Temporary Contract (with potential for permanent hire)
PTO: 10 days
Overview:
Seeking an experienced Encroachment Engineer to support the safe operation of pipeline assets by evaluating third-party construction near company facilities. This includes engineering assessments, design reviews, and coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review construction plans and assess potential impacts to pipeline systems.
- Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Perform stress and seismic analysis, mark up drawings, and prepare technical reports.
- Coordinate with internal departments (Integrity, Corrosion, Land, Operations) and third parties.
- Recommend mitigation or protection measures when necessary.
- Provide guidance and technical input for agreements or approval letters.
- Attend meetings with stakeholders as needed.
Qualifications:
- BS in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- 6β8 years of utility coordination or encroachment experience (Oil & Gas preferred)
- Strong technical writing, communication, and drawing review skills
- Familiarity with GIS, Google Maps, Bluebeam
- PE license in Texas (or ability to obtain within 6 months) preferred
- DOT experience a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects
