Our Woodyard Area Manager will play a key role in driving our success by overseeing the maintenance of spare parts and tools, anticipating potential issues, and implementing process improvements to increase production and reduce costs.
Responsibilities and Expectations
• Ensure a safe working environment for all team members
• Maintain process and product quality metrics
• Meet volume targets through effective planning and execution
• Develop and implement SOPs as necessary
• Provide training and development opportunities for team members
• Oversee the maintenance program and tooling budget
• Drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the area
• Recruit and manage team members to achieve business objectives
Requirements and Qualifications
• Associates or college degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience required
• 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Must have woodyard experience in the paper, pulp, wood, pellets industry
• Current experience as a supervisor or manager
• Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical motors, pumps, fans, blowers, and conveyors
• Ability to perform root cause analysis (RCA)
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing and process improvement techniques
• Excellent communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
