Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Timekeeper to join our team in the oil and gas staffing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately tracking and recording employee hours, ensuring proper documentation for payroll processing, and maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This position requires a strong understanding of payroll systems, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with both internal teams and field personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Timekeeping Duties:
- Maintain accurate time records for all employees, including tracking time off (vacation, sick leave, holidays), overtime, and any other time-related issues.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, labor laws, and union regulations regarding time tracking.
- Review and verify employee timecards, correcting any discrepancies and communicating with employees and managers to resolve issues.
- Assist employees with troubleshooting timekeeping systems and provide training as needed.
- Prepare and submit weekly or bi-weekly reports on employee attendance and time worked to the appropriate departments.
- Coordinate with internal teams to ensure the timely and accurate processing of payroll data.
- Monitor employee work hours to ensure compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Other Responsibilities:
- Assist in month-end and year-end audits related to timekeeping.
- Respond promptly to inquiries from internal stakeholders (e.g., HR, accounting, management) regarding timekeeping records.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
Skills & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree is preferred but not essential.
- Strong understanding of timekeeping processes and payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with accounting software (NetSuite, SAP, etc.) is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with complex data sets.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
- Strong customer service orientation when dealing with clients and employees.
