Under the general direction of the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) Executive Director, the Staff Services Manager (SSM) I manages, directs, and supervises staff providing necessary legal and program support to the Board, Division of Administrative Law, Office of the General Counsel, and Division of State Mediation and Conciliation Service. This includes staff at two regional offices. Coordinates PERB-wide tracking and efforts in data collection and reporting, regulatory process, and bill analysis. Provides proactive solutions to anticipated constituent issues to improve service levels, maintain and complete organized documentation, and develop a high performing program support base.

The Public Employment Relations Board is a quasi-judicial administrative agency charged with administering the collective bargaining statutes covering employees of California's public schools, colleges, and universities, employees of the State of California, employees of California local public agencies (cities, counties and special districts), trial court employees and supervisory employees of the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority. All PERB employees are all categorized as excluded (nonunion members).
