Position Summary
Public House seeks a Bartender to take orders and make drinks for customers, monitor customers at the bar, and receive payments in a fast, efficient manner. This role will work closely with FOH and BOH as well as managers to deliver excellent customer service. This role requires a high school diploma or GED, legal ability to serve alcohol, and Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS) certification. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, knowledge of mixology and cocktail recipes, and basic math skills, and be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays. This part time seasonal role starts at $11.79 plus tip pool. The season runs December-April and June-November. Roles and Responsibilities
Position Purpose
- Bartenders mix and serve alcoholic beverages based on customer requests.
Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
- Greet customers warmly and professionally.
- Actively listen to customer requests and provide drink recommendations.
- Build rapport with patrons to create a positive experience.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Accurately follow standardized cocktail recipes.
- Prepare garnishes for drinks as needed.
- Mix drinks efficiently and with precision.
- Maintain knowledge of different spirits, liqueurs, mixers, and their proportions.
- Stock the bar with necessary beverages, ice, and glassware.
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including wiping down counters and washing glasses.
- Organize liquor bottles and displays for easy access.
- Follow opening and closing procedures, including cash reconciliation.
- Take drink orders accurately and input them into the POS system.
- Process payments efficiently, handling cash and credit cards.
- Balance cash receipts to record sales.
- Utilize upselling techniques to maximize sales.
- Adhere to all liquor laws and regulations regarding serving alcohol responsibly.
- Check IDs to verify the age of customers.
- Identify and address intoxicated patrons.
Qualifications
- 18 years old or older and able to legally serve alcoholic beverages in Colorado.
- A high school diploma or GED .
- Training for Intervention ProcedureS (TIPS) certification.
