Roles and Responsibilities
Public House is seeking a dynamic and experienced Front of House Manager to lead daily operations while delivering an outstanding guest experience. The ideal candidate is hospitality-driven, detail-oriented, and passionate about building a strong team culture. In addition to traditional management responsibilities, this role includes participating in the restaurant's social media presence to engage guests, promote specials and events, and elevate the brand.
This full-time, year-round, benefitted position offers a base salary of $55,000 - $60,000, plus performance-based incentives and is permitted to receive tips and participate in “tip pools” per the Tip Regulations under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The Front Of House Manager is responsible for the total comprehension and enforcement of the FLSA regulations.
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations of the front-of-house team, ensuring smooth service and consistent guest satisfaction
- Hire, train, and develop team members to maintain a high-performance service culture
- Manage labor, COGS, and other controllable expenses to hit financial targets
Maintain health, safety, and cleanliness standards in compliance with local regulations
Guest Experience
- Set the tone for genuine, attentive, and memorable service
- Resolve guest concerns in a professional and timely manner
- Monitor feedback across review platforms and respond as needed
Team Management
- Create and manage FOH schedules based on business volume
- Coach and motivate staff through regular check-ins and performance reviews
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and accountable work environment
Social Media Engagement
- Collaborate with ownership or marketing team to develop a social media strategy aligned with the brand
- Capture and post content regularly across platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.)
- Promote upcoming events, specials, and behind-the-scenes moments to drive engagement
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Prior experience in a full- or quick-service restaurant.
- Prior supervisory responsibilities of a large staff.
- Must maintain high standards in restaurant cleanliness, sanitation, food quality and guest satisfaction.
- Excellent communication skills.
Special Position Requirements
- SERV Safe or equivalent safe food handling certification
- TIPS alcohol handling certification
Work Requirements
- Must work a flexible schedule, including opening/swing/closing shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Must have reliable transportation, and a clean driving record.
- Must be willing to exert physical demands, including sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and tasting or smelling.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 175 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to ten pounds.
- Must work around kitchen equipment, machinery, chemicals, fire, gasses, and odors.
- Must work in extreme temperatures, including walk-in refrigerator/freezer and kitchen line.
- Must work within a loud and noisy environment.
