Title: Director of Strategic Partnerships
Reports to: President
Location: Old Town Alexandria, VA (Next to King Street Metro)
What is the Role?
The Director of Strategic Partnerships is a seasoned professional responsible for developing donor cultivation strategies, tracking and managing relationship-building activities, and soliciting major gifts either individually or with the President.
The ideal candidate will be an entrepreneurial, action-oriented professional with strong writing and presentation skills. S/he must be able to take initiative and follow through with minimal supervision and demonstrate integrity, sound judgement, and tact. This full-time position will be based in our Alexandria, Virginia headquarters.
What You Will Do:
• Identify, cultivate, and solicit major individual and foundation donors and prospects through face-to-face meetings and calls.
• Develop strategies to engage and inspire PILF’s donors.
• Work closely with legal and communications teams to understand and convey PILF’s work to donor audiences.
• Develop proposals and stewardship reports.
• Manage PILF donor database, gratitude processes, and acquisition programs.
• Attend events to raise the visibility of PILF among prospective donors.
Who You Are:
• You have at least 3 years of professional experience as a major gifts officer with demonstrated success in securing major gifts from individuals.
• You are able to travel up to 20% of the time.
• You are a persuasive communicator with exceptional writing and presentation skills.
• You have interest and experience with legal issues, or willingness to jump in and learn.
• You bring a deep curiosity and understanding of election law, public policy and politics.
• You are experienced in translating internal ideas, metrics and strategies into easy-to-understand and compelling language for donor audiences.
• You can work independently, multi-task, set priorities and follow through.
• You are committed to PILF’s mission and want to join a dynamic organization working on critical issues facing our country.
Who We Are:
PILF is a 501(c)(3) Non-profit public interest law firm dedicated to election integrity and safeguarding the arrangement whereby states run their own elections. The organization is a pioneer in litigation strategies to foster clean and honest elections, an advocate for the proper balance between state and federal oversight of elections and data driven analysis of voter fraud and election vulnerabilities. The organization brings lawsuits to enforce federal and state election laws designed to ensure that only legal votes are counted.
What We Offer:
Salary commensurate with experience, with range at $80,000 to $150,000. Favorable health, dental, vision, and life insurance plan, quarterly HSA contributions, work-life balance, PTO, and other benefits.
