Public Partnerships LLC (PPL) provides helps people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other long-term health conditions stay at home and “self-direct” their care. Known as consumer direction in New York, this long-term care model empowers people to take control of who provides their services and where. PPL was selected to be the Statewide Fiscal Intermediary for the New York Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) starting in 2025. Job Title: Director, Revenue Cycle Management
Role Overview
The Director of Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of the revenue cycle, from patient registration to final payment. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, a strong ability to manage teams, and a strategic mindset to drive efficiency, compliance, and financial performance. The Director will collaborate with clinical, financial, and operational leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the revenue cycle process, including billing, collections, claims processing, and accounts receivable management. Communicate complex, technical claiming matter to executive level resources.
- Operational Oversight: Lead day-to-day revenue cycle operations, ensuring timely and accurate submission of claims, prompt follow-up on denials, and adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Team Management: Supervise and mentor the RCM team, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance.
- Compliance: Ensure all revenue cycle activities comply with federal, state, and payer regulations, including HIPAA and other applicable standards.
- Financial Performance: Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) such as days in accounts receivable (AR), claim denial rates, and cash collections, and take corrective action as needed.
- Collaboration: Partner with clinical and operational leaders to address revenue-related challenges and improve patient financial experience.
- Technology Optimization: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of revenue cycle management systems, ensuring data integrity and workflow efficiency. Troubleshoot large scale 835 electronic remittance.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and lead initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximize revenue.
- Stakeholder Communication: Provide regular updates to executive leadership on revenue cycle performance and financial health.
Qualifications
- Experience: 8 years of progressive experience in revenue cycle management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing large teams (25 )
- Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, payer regulations, and compliance requirements. NY CDPAP experience or FMS/self-direction experience in revenue cycle with another vendor or MCO/State Medicaid Agency
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with revenue cycle management systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Meditech) and data analysis tools. Workday experience. Strong Excel skills. Experience in claims management utilizing a clearinghouse (Waystar a )
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a complex and fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, interpret trends, and make informed decisions to improve financial performance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders, including executive leadership.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certifications: Certified Revenue Cycle Executive (CRCE) or similar certification is a plus.
Compensation range $125,000-$155,000
