What are the responsibilities and job description for the Private Musical Instrument Teachers for Public Schools of Brookline Music Extension After School Lesson Program (SY24-25) position at Public Schools of Brookline (Districtwide)?
Position Overview:
The Public Schools of Brookline is seeking music teachers for after school private instrument lessons for our Music Extension program. We are looking for specialists of any of the following instruments:
- clarinet
- flute
- saxophone
- trumpet
- trombone
- percussion
- violin
- viola
- cello
- uprght bass
In your cover letter, please include all instruments you can teach and to what level. Students are generally in grades 5 through 8, with some older or younger, and at beginning to intermediate level, though we do have some more advanced students.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Teaching instrument technique and skills to support students in learning an instrument and to support their work in their school-day Band or Orchestra classes.
- Interacting with and understanding students in ways that create a climate of respect, support, and high expectations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- College and/or Advanced Degree in content area.
