Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies that align with the company's long-term vision and short-term goals. This includes budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Maintain robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets.
- Capital Management: Manage the company's capital structure, including fundraising activities, debt management, treasury and investment strategy, and any M&A activity. Work closely with investment bankers and financial advisors to explore financing options.
- Financial Analysis and Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure financial health and operational efficiency. Provide regular financial insights to the executive team and board of directors.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company's financial stability and resilience. Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
- Investor Relations: Build and maintain relationships with investors, including institutional investors, analysts, and the financial community. Communicate the company's financial performance and strategic direction effectively.
- Corporate Governance: Collaborate with the board of directors to establish policies and ensure compliance with corporate governance best practices.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Education and Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is preferred.
- Experience: At least 10 years of experience in finance, with a minimum of 5 years in a CFO role, preferably in an early-stage tech company. Experience in publicly traded companies is essential.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting. Strong Excel skills are required.
- Leadership and Communication: Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions. Experience in scaling financial operations and building high-performing finance teams.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements, particularly in the tech industry. SEC filing experience including 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K filing experience.
