About the Role

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will be pivotal in advancing an ambitious, proprietary generative AI application developing tools to help people write, publish, and sell books with AI. You'll have the opportunity to design and implement cutting-edge solutions in multimodal generative AI while collaborating with cross-functional teams in engineering, product, marketing, and design. In this position, you will work on building AI pipelines for long from content generation, illustration, and translation use cases.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement content generation pipelines for the self-publishing industry
  • Collaborate with software and data engineers to organize, collect, and process large amounts of data
  • Design and implement NLU and CV algorithms using deep learning and other ML techniques
  • Work with the product team to propose and define metrics and KPIs for ML pipelines
  • Conduct scientific experiments to optimize the performance of the ML pipelines
  • Implement scalable solutions to enhance generative pipelines using techniques like prompt optimization and RLHF

  • Achieve measurable improvements in pipeline efficiency and content quality through the deployment of scalable and optimized machine learning systems.
  • Enhance model performance by developing robust training pipelines that leverage multimodal data and cutting-edge optimization techniques.
  • Contribute to the growth of the platform by enabling new AI-powered features, such as translation and illustration, that expand the product's capabilities and market reach.
  • Collaborate across teams to define and track ML pipeline KPIs, ensuring alignment with business goals and continuous improvement.
  • Drive innovation by applying advanced techniques, such as reinforcement learning, to refine generative AI models and deliver impactful solutions to end-users.
  • Requirements

    Technical Expertise : 5 years of professional software engineering experience and 2 years of professional machine learning engineering experience, including hands-on work with NLU, NLP, and generative AI models; a degree in computer science or equivalent is highly preferred

  • Programming Skills : Strong proficiency in Python and version control systems like Git (this role includes significant programming responsibilities)
  • Communication Skills : Native-level fluency in English, both written and spoken, including a natural tendency to collaborate and participate in initiatives, meetings, and stand ups
  • ML Fundamentals : Strong understanding of machine learning, deep learning, and NLU concepts, including prompt engineering, chain-of-thought reasoning, and other established and emerging techniques
  • Research Application : Experience conducting literature reviews and implementing findings from academic papers
  • Scalable Solutions : Proven ability to design and build scalable, user-facing applications for NLU and generative AI
  • Cloud and MLOps : Experience with cloud computing platforms and modern MLOps tools
  • Collaborative Approach : Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a history of working across product and engineering teams
  • Ownership Mindset : Demonstrated ability to lead projects, solve complex problems, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Expected Compensation

    150,000 - $200,000 USD Annually Bonus
