Description
Comprehensive support of all processes and operations within the Flexo Department. This includes: production file management, engraving, ordering/replenishment of certain supplies and inventoried materials, and ink mixing. Production assistance on the following Flexo production equipment: all Flexo presses, Rewinds, and the Zebra ZXP Series 7 card printer. Finishing and packaging of printed products. This requires the set-up and assembly of single and/or multiple components into a final product.
- Responsible for the accurate reading and comprehension of written job specifications. Job specifications provide the production details of each job/finished product.
- Responsible for supporting the accurate set-up and operation of the four and five spindle turret rewinds.
- Responsible for managing Flexo supplies.
- Responsible for supplying production equipment with all raw materials needed for job requirements.
- Responsible for maintaining permanent Flexo production files.
- Responsible for Flexo inventory cycle counting.
- Responsible for doing engraving responsibilities when the Engraver is out.
- Responsible for the set-up and manual assembly of single and/or multiple components into a final kitted product.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient set-up and complete operation of all equipment.
- Responsible for printing specific verbiage (product restrictions, promotional information, etc.) on retail gift cards, using a Zebra ZXP Series 7 card printer.
- Responsible for the accurate set-up and operation of the packaging line for the 10-inch Flexo web press during gift card carrier production.
- Responsible for the safe and efficient basic operator maintenance and cleanliness of the shrink wrap and 120-inch core cutter (and their respective work areas).
- Responsible for the timely and accurate accounting and reporting of production time and materials, via shop-floor data collection terminals.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or its equivalent
- Basic math and measurement knowledge
- Basic volume and weight knowledge
- Physical abilities, including: the lifting of up to 70 pounds, extended walking/standing (up to 14 hours/day), bending, and squatting.

- Incumbent must be willing and able to work variable work schedules (sometimes with short notice) when and as required by the work load, which may include weekend and/or holiday hours
Preferred Qualifications
- Flexo trade school training/diploma
- One year of trade Flexo work experience
- Flexo trade certification(s)
- Knowledge of general Publix and Printing Services’ policies and procedures
- General printing knowledge, particularly with regard to the principles of Flexo printing and finishing and the ability to recognize problems that could adversely affect the quality of the finished product
- Specific and advanced knowledge of the various supported and un-supported web printing substrates
- Specific knowledge of set-up, operation, and maintenance of the Zebra ZXP Series 7 card printer
- Specific knowledge of Flexo files and what is required for the file to be ready to go into production
- Knowledge of set-up and operational knowledge of the shrink wrap and 120-inch core cutter equipment
- Knowledge of Publix and Printing Services job and code numbering systems, examples are order book and finished goods numbering systems.
- Knowledge of shipping and distribution
- Knowledge of Shop Floor Data Collection, via Monarch Data Collection (thin net) Terminals
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Lock-Out/Tag-Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Year End Bonus
To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
