Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in North-East Los Angeles, and the North-East San Fernando Valley.

The Team Member we are searching for
The ideal Director of Compliance believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC Schools and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, and collaboration to ensure student success across the organization. The Director of Compliance is a member of the Chief Executive Office and reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The Director of Compliance is responsible for overseeing and ensuring PUC Schools' adherence to federal, state, and local regulations and policies. This role involves developing and implementing compliance programs, monitoring, and auditing PUC Schools' practices, and providing training and support to staff to maintain a legally sound and ethical educational environment.

What You Will Need To Accomplish
- Work collaboratively with departments within the office of the Chief Executive Officer, PUC Schools, and relevant school personnel
- Direct and support school safety through cross-departmental collaboration at the school sites in relation to the school day and extended day/afterschool programs
- An annual compliance plan, inclusive of all pertinent compliance items with continuous updating based on the nature of compliance, for PUC Schools
- The federal, state, local district, and organization compliance requirements for PUC Schools
- The LCAP, SAC/ELAC, SARC, and CA Dashboard timelines, processes, and compliance components across the organization
- The charter renewal process for each school in alignment with state legislation, local district guidelines, and collaboration with relevant school personnel and charter authorizer/LAUSD
- All federal, state, and local district compliance updates to PUC Office of CEO, PUC Board, school leaders, and relevant school personnel
- All professional development, trainings, and guidance related to compliance implementation at PUC Schools
- All grant compliance, program implementation, and professional development and training related to extended day/afterschool programs at PUC Schools.
- Compliance team members in a positive, professional, and productive manner to support team member's continuous development and growth
- Overseeing the implementation of all compliance items and initiatives at the department, school, and organization level
- All compliance guidance, advice, and/or training to school leaders, relevant school personnel, and organization
- Compliance data analysis and/or equivalent to inform a data driven approach to compliance implementation at PUC Schools
- Use data to prepare and present clear and concise compliance data reports to PUC Office of CEO, PUC Boards, school leaders and relevant school personnel, and charter authorizer (LAUSD)
- Compliance related audits such as the CDE's Federal Program Monitoring (FPM), Federal Title Funding, and other equivalent compliance audits for PUC Schools
- Required policies, board reports, and updating various websites for schools and organizations related to compliance (i.e., CDE, SARC, eLCAP, CSD/LAUSD, etc.)
- Internal compliance audits, reviews, and program monitoring in the department, schools, and organization
- And engaging in continuous learning and collaboration related to compliance mastery for the department, schools, and organization
- The learning, communication, and networking with external entities (i.e., Federal Dept. Ed, CDE, CSD/LAUSD, CMOs, etc.) in support of internal organization compliance
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Office of the CEO
What do we require from you?
Education
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree from an accredited college or university in education or related field required
- Valid California administrative credential preferred
- 3 years professional experience in compliance related field at a school district and/or Charter Management Organization required
- 5 years demonstrated leadership in administrative assignments, preferably including site and central office levels preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position
