Overview
Pueblo Community College (PCC) is seeking a passionate and dedicated AHA Certified Spanish Instructor to teach Basic Life Support (BLS) and Heartsaver courses. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Spanish and committed to providing high-quality instruction to PCC students and the surrounding community. This role involves delivering AHA courses following official curriculum and policies to ensure participants gain critical life-saving skills.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver AHA BLS and Heartsaver courses in Spanish to a diverse audience of students and community members.
- Ensure compliance with AHA policies and guidelines in all aspects of course instruction.
- Maintain and utilize current Spanish AHA instructor materials and all required equipment.
- Create an engaging learning environment that supports a wide range of skill levels.
- Track and report class attendance, completions, and certifications in line with AHA standards.
- Promote safety awareness and the importance of emergency response in both academic and community settings.
Required Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Current AHA Instructor Certification for Basic Life Support and Heartsaver courses.
- Access to and proficiency with Spanish AHA instructor materials and mandated AHA equipment.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience teaching AHA curriculum.
- Strong knowledge of AHA policies and guidelines.
