Department Purpose
Position Summary
This position has been identified as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) in accordance with Department of Education guidelines. As a CSA, the incumbent is required to report crimes that they become aware of to the Department of Public Safety and must attend related annual training.
In accordance with Colorado Revised Statutes 24-50-135, this position has been exempted from the State Personnel System.
Job Duties
Essential Functions
Oversees the daily operational support for the Concurrent Enrollment program by:
- Assisting students, parents, and counselors with questions, admissions, score/course placement, academic planning, and registration, both in person, and through phone and email
- Assisting with marketing/recruitment activities to include a high school visit scheduling, marketing efforts in partner high schools, college information sessions, award nights/graduation events, college fairs/nights, campus tours, FAFSA nights, Friday Academy, recruitment visits, and community events that benefit concurrent enrollment and PTech students/parents and outreach efforts.
- Developing “warm hand” program for all graduating seniors to increase matriculation to PCC campuses.
- Directing the development, distribution, and collection of registration enrollment packets.
- Developing student academic monitoring systems to track student progression through program via Navigate Academic plans and the Early Alert system.
- Troubleshooting student issues in Banner.
- Representing Concurrent Enrollment policy and procedure development at the local and State levels.
- Monitoring and managing assigned budget.
- Preparing billing/invoices as required.
- Overseeing assigned staff and/or work study students.
- Representing Pueblo Community College at community and civic engagement opportunities.
Builds and maintains strong relationships with high school students and their parents, administrators, teachers, and counselors by:
- Recruiting high school instructors to participate in Concurrent Enrollment instruction.
- Assisting high school instructors with credentialing process initiation.
- Assisting school districts with the application and registration processes of Concurrent Enrollment students.
- Ensuring instructor access to portal and grade entry.
- Distributing student schedules and transcripts to partner schools for records purposes.
- Collaborating with students and counselors to ensure pathways align with individual educational goals.
- Providing on-going academic and college advising services to prepare students for the academic demands of college.
- Guiding students when navigating academic and non-academic resources on campus, online and in the community.
- Addressing academic/behavioral/conduct issues or concerns.
- Initiating the college graduation planning process to ensure connection to secondary academic programs through plans of study and the Individualized Education Plan (ICAP).
- Coordinating placement testing.
Supports the Director of Concurrent Enrollment by:
- Assisting with departmental planning, budgeting, and operations.
- Utilizing standardized reporting practices to accurately document interactions, evaluations, referrals, and conversations with Concurrent Enrollment students.
- Utilizing standardized testing to determine placement for Concurrent Enrollment students.
- Working closely with staff at all campuses to participate in joint long-term strategic planning, training, implementation, and assessment of advising and recruitment goals and strategies.
- Developing a matriculation plan for all Concurrent Enrollment students.
- Working with the Office of Recruitment to develop strategic matriculation plan, including communications and advising that encourages Concurrent Enrollment students to matriculate to the college.
- Analyzing retention and attrition data to identify trends and potential solutions and collaborate with faculty to resolve student issues relating to academic performance and identify resolutions to student barriers.
- Completing requested reports that include statistics on services provided.
- Maintaining currency of Concurrent Enrollment communication materials.
- Managing Concurrent Enrollment records in Navigate and CE database.
- Reporting Colorado Student Grant funds earmarked to assist Concurrent Enrollment students and programs.
- Coordinating with Department Chairs and partnering school districts to provide courses to students for enrollment in program.

Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.
Experience:
- Two or more years higher education experience that includes academic advising, counseling, teaching, and/or student services.
- Experience collecting and/or analyzing data.
- Experience in a multicultural environment.
- Public speaking experience.
Special knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- Knowledge of relevant Federal and Colorado regulations pertaining to student enrollment.
- Knowledge of best practices pertaining to student advisement and career planning.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
