The Human Resources Generalist hires, onboards, and conducts new hire orientations. develops, administers, implements, and supports policies, programs, and practices relating to all phases of PDI’s human resources activities by performing the essential duties and responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Policies and Procedures
- Actively seek and continuously pursue applicants for open positions, with a primary focus on individuals with diverse abilities.
- Fostering meaningful community engagement by building relationships with the public and maintaining a professional rapport with staff, ensuring the highest level of confidentiality.
- Conduct all aspects of the employer-employee relationship with professionalism and discretion.
- Take an assertive role in employee relations, supporting the Senior HR Director, executive leadership, managers, and supervisors.
- Respond to inquiries regarding HR compliance, policies, procedures, and programs, consistently referencing the official Handbook as a resource.
- Take and follow directions under the guidance of the Senior Human Resources Director in a professional manner.
- Provide comprehensive support to all functions of the Senior Director of Human Resources.
- Maintain accurate and compliant human resources records, including both electronic and hard copy files, for all locations.
- Demonstrate self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work independently while maintaining productivity.
- Exhibit a high level of attention to detail, ensuring thorough documentation and compliance with all regulations in all locations.
Government reporting
o Requires knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting. Maintains compliance and current calendar of compliance deadlines. Must have knowledge of compliance and reporting deadlines. PDI has several contracts that require knowledge of the system and its use to pull reports, such as Vets Reporting, OSHA, EEO, and EEO-1 &-2. Benefits reporting, Medicare Part D notices, and Affirmative Action.
Recruiting, hiring, and employment termination processes.
o Recruit employees to fill vacant positions with diversely abled staff.
o You will be empowered to create and contribute to a cohesive recruiting process with the current HRIS system (Paylocity).
o You educate and influence job seekers by sharing information and hitting on the best hiring practices.
o You will be assisting new staff on how to use the system and on completing onboarding regularly.
o You will always be thinking of a better way to improve the speed and quality of making hires for the business.
o Arrange and may participate in or conduct interviews with applicants and the Project or Assistant Project Manager.
o Administers all pre-hire and conditional offer requirements, including drug screens, background checks, and reference checks.
o Ensure the proper documentation is in the system and gathered before the start date of a new hire.
o Coordinates and conducts new employee orientation once an employee has completed the hiring process.
o Supports and may conduct all steps in the employment termination process with assistance from the Sr. Director of Human Resources.
Recordkeeping
o Keeps records of all applicants for all positions
o Organizes and tracks all employee documents and maintains each employee’s personnel file, electronically and via hard paper copies, coordinated with the HR Dept. the headquarters.
o Commit to long hours of work when necessary to reach the goal(s).
o Complete tasks on time or notify the appropriate person with an alternate plan.
Benefits management
o Supports the administration of benefits programs with a third party promptly.
o Maintains records as required to define benefits eligibility under the Patient Privacy and Affordable Care Act and other programs.
Training
o Takes a very active role in developing, presenting, and documenting training for all employees.
o Takes a very active role in developing, preparing for, and delivering content at PDI’s in-service events and other training activities.
Ft. Carson
o Acts as liaison for Ft. Carson–based staff about Human Resources recordkeeping, hiring, employment termination, training, and benefits administration.
o Main contact and Benefits liaison for Contract benefits.
o Maintains all recordkeeping related to benefits programs for employees based at Ft. Carson and/or working under similar contracts.
o Assist Managers with Paylocity or any other program until they are up to speed or recommend training.

Vehicle use
o This position may require you to drive a personal vehicle or PDI vehicle on PDI business. You will need a current, valid driver's license and automobile insurance.

Requirements:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PDI POSITIONS
You must be age 21 or over to work at PDI. You must also pass a pre-hire drug and background screen as well as random drug screens that may occur at any time and without notice while employed by PDI. You must be computer-literate, comfortable with technology, and with well-developed oral and written communication skills. You must be able to complete and pass First Aid, CPR, and other required training.
Suppose the position requires you to drive a PDI vehicle on company business. In that case, you must possess a valid driver’s license and agree to a review of your motor vehicle record for addition to PDI’s authorized drivers list. In addition, if the position authorizes you to drive your vehicle on PDI business then you must provide proof of automobile insurance and proof of required automobile insurance limits.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree (“B.A.”) from an accredited four-year college or university. Four (4) years related experience or a combination of education and experience. A minimum of 2 years of direct administrative or human resources experience is required.
LANGUAGE ABILITY
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, stakeholders, and the general public.
MATHEMATICS ABILITY
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
COMPUTER SKILLS REQUIRED
To perform this job successfully, an employee should know the Microsoft Office suite of products, Internet software, cellular telephones, and basic office equipment.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The Human Resources Generalist typically works at PDI’s main facility and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can become loud and hectic.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a non-exempt, full-time position. Expected hours of work are 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, with some flexibility during the year. An unpaid 30-minute meal period is required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The Human Resources Generalist must often lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, rarely lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and very rarely lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with the aid of an assistive device. While performing the duties of this Job, the Human Resources Generalist is regularly required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The Human Resources Generalist is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands and fingers, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
TRAVEL
Routine travel within a radius of 50 miles of the PDI main facility is required. Occasional overnight business travel may be required.
