What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Banquet Houseperson Supervisor position at Pueblo of Pojoaque?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supervises Housemen to ensure consistency throughout the setup and break down.
- Assists with the planning, organizing, and execution of all banquet functions.
- Assists with setting up and clean up.
- Greets clients in charge and responds to requests.
- Speaks at roll call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations.
- Supervises all assigned side work to include replenishing condiments and restocking banquet cabinet supplies.
- Supervises general cleaning tasks using standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Abides by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Checks with Facilities, Catering, and Culinary for any minute changes.
- Other duties as assigned.
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently to interact with staff.
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Ability to make quick and accurate decisions.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalism.
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior Banquet department experience preferred. Prior set up experience preferred.
- PPABC Liquor Certification or successful completion of the PPABC Liquor Certification course
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Banquet/Restaurant
- Standing/Walking: 100%. Employee may walk or stand up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
- Ability to lifts, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
- Shift work required. Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
