What are the responsibilities and job description for the Hotel Houseperson Banquet position at Pueblo of Pojoaque?
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Set up tables and chairs to meet the function specifications.
- Properly clean meeting space at beginning, during, and end of events, including not limited to vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, polishing, wiping, scrubbing
- Completes assigned side work to include cleaning meeting space and storage space, that adhere to standard hotel products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Abides by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
- Attends all mandatory meetings.
- Keeps work area clean and organized.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently to interact with staff.
- Basic knowledge of Meeting Room Set up, service standards, guest relations and etiquette.
- Knowledge of appropriate table settings and service ware.
- Must possess strong organizational skills.
- Ability to perform under pressure effectively for extensive periods of time while maintaining professionalis
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Prior Banquet department experience preferred. Prior set up experience preferred.
- PPABC Liquor Certification or successful completion of the PPABC Liquor Certification course
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Banquet/Restaurant
- Standing/Walking: 100%. Employee may walk or stand up to 4 hours at a time.
- Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 50 lbs. through a crowded room.
- Ability to lifts, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
- Shift work required.Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
