SUMMARY:
This position is grant-funded. There is no guarantee of employment beyond the 2028-29 school year.
 
The primary responsibility of the PBL Coordinator is to coordinate and facilitate the implementation of the STREAM programming and PBL across content and grade levels. The Coordinator will support teachers in developing innovative instructional practices that foster creativity and critical thinking, preparing students for college or technical careers. The role includes curriculum development, teacher training, and the promotion of PBL that engages students in interdisciplinary projects.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:
  • Valid Colorado Teaching License within 60 days from date of hire.
  • Endorsement/Credentials in Technology, Science, Arts, Math or related instructional area.
  • Five (5) years of successful teaching experience in STREAM education, or an integrated subject area.
  • Valid Colorado Driver License.
  • Employee must complete a fingerprint-based criminal background check and must be cleared by the Office of Human Resources.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing using proper grammar and vocabulary.
 
PREFERRED:
  • Master’s Degree in education, technology, science, arts, math, or a related field
  • Experience in arts integration within a STEM framework

  • In-depth understanding of state standards, curriculum, and assessment programs related to both science and the arts.
  • Knowledge of inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary instruction.
  • Experience in preparing and presenting high-quality, research-based professional development.
  • Ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with teachers, students, and community members.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to plan short-term and long-term goals effectively.
  • Proficiency in using technology and instructional media tools to enhance learning.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative.

  • Teacher Support: Coach and mentor teachers in integrating arts into STEM subjects, fostering an interdisciplinary approach to instruction.
  • Curriculum Development: Lead the development of curriculum units that blend creative arts with scientific inquiry and technological innovation.
  • Professional Development: Provide ongoing professional development for teachers in STREAM education, including workshops, demonstration lessons, and coaching sessions.
  • Collaboration: Work with school leaders and teachers to implement innovative teaching practices that align with the school’s magnet theme.
  • Instructional Practices: Model best practices in classroom settings, including co-teaching and real-time coaching, to support the adoption of new instructional strategies.
  • Assessment: Assist teachers in using assessment data to inform instruction and improve student outcomes in both arts and science subjects.
  • Community Engagement: Develop and maintain partnerships with local arts organizations, businesses, and institutions to support the magnet program and provide students with real-world learning opportunities.
  • Program Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation of the STREAM program to ensure its effectiveness and alignment with district goals.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee will work primarily in a school/office environment with both natural and fluorescent lighting. The noise level is usually quiet in an office environment but can be noisy at times. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
