What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting Assistant position at Pugh CPAs?
This position is responsible for providing bookkeeping and accounting support to a large client base, including but not limited to the production of financial reports, categorizing expenses, general ledger, payroll, sales and business taxes, and account reconciliations. *Please note this an in office job*
Essential Duties:
- Perform general bookkeeping and accounting tasks
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries
- Investigate general ledger balance discrepancies
- Assist in preparing financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
- Process payroll and payroll tax returns
- Process monthly sales tax returns
- Process business tax returns, annual reports, and personal property tax reports
All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills:
Associates degree preferred, but not required
2-5 years of relevant experience
Self-motivated and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy; highly organized and able to multi-task
Working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and/or Desktop, Microsoft Office, and Outlook
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Willing to work extended hours during peak season including working weekends as needed
