Job Description
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Assistant to join a local team in Crossville, TN! In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
POSITION SUMMARY :
Support duties related to AP / AR Functions. The accounts receivable assistant is responsible for the receipt and accounting of funds being paid the company. This role also serves as an auditor, ensuring that invoices are accurate and proper accounting procedures are followed to account for the receipt of payments for goods and services completed by the Company. The accounts payable assistant compiles and maintains accounts payable records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following :
- Accounts Receivable and Payable
- Applies customer payments.
- Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
- Makes adjustments to accounts as needed -Prepares daily deposits
- Does daily invoicing and audits shipments for discrepancies
- Reviews and Enters Invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
- Prepares Weekly Checks for accounts payable
- Prepares garnishment checks for payroll and payroll tax
- Compile, maintain accounts payable, receivable reports, and routine reports and summaries.
- Assists in monthly closings
- Performs filing and copying.
- Data Entry Work
- Preparing and mailing invoices, identifying delinquent accounts, notifying customers of late payments as instructed
- Maintains accounting ledgers by posting accurate account transactions
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
Qualifications : financial software, attention to detail, thoroughness, accounting, general math skills, PC
Education and / or experience : BS / BA Degree in Accounting; 3-5 years of experience or combination
