Job Description

Compensation

Essential Duties
- Assist the department as assigned by the Director and Utilities Superintendent in general administrative, operational, and financial analysis.
- Collect pertinent information through research, surveys, and other resources and perform analysis information using spreadsheet calculations and other software programs.
- Inspect Lanai Water Company, and Utilities Department properties to ensure compliance with State and Federal rules and regulations.
- Submit monthly / weekly reports and maintain various records.
- Conduct weekly safety discussion with staff.
- Update arc/GIS program weekly.
- Manage cross connection program to ensure compliance by Lanai Water Company customers with annual inspections and device repairs as required by State of Hawaii code.
- Manage warehouse material and equipment inventory.
- Daily management of Badger Eye on Water program, to include meter re-reads, leak checks, meet with delinquent accounts and program meters for replacement.
- Conduct studies and perform special projects as assigned by the Director.
- Respond to emergencies as necessary 24/7 utilizing SCADA system and assist as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Requires 4 years of working experience in water or wastewater industry.
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
- Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires working to the established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
- Requires the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
- Ability to create effective working relationships with people.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
- Distribution System Operator license of Grade 2 within 30 months of job acceptance.
- Cross Connection certified tester license within 30 months of job acceptance.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk; hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
