Position: Senior Reliability Engineer
Location: Hybrid (Travel required up to 50% to plants in Fernley, NV, Las Vegas, NV, Lovelock, NV, and Reno, NV)
Job Type: Permanent (FTE)
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop, lead, implement, and track programs, systems, processes, capital projects, and equipment upgrades to improve equipment reliability and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This includes preventive and predictive maintenance systems, precision maintenance techniques, detailed work plans, material recommendations, troubleshooting guides, repair plans, spare parts tracking, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- Continuously review and improve preventive maintenance tasks and processes.
- Perform Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) or similar methods to create appropriate maintenance strategies for equipment, which include checks, preventive, and predictive maintenance.
- Study equipment breakdowns and failures. Conduct Root Cause Failure Analysis and implement corrective actions and improvement plans based on findings.
- Champion world-class Maintenance Reliability Programs, including lubrication, vibration analysis, oil analysis, alignment, and balance.
- Manage projects (small to large) to enhance equipment safety, regulatory compliance, reliability, performance, and maintenance cost management, aiming to achieve optimal product quality and production rates.
- Analyze inspection reports and data to assess effectiveness, quality, and inspection intervals.
- Conduct field analysis, investigations, and evaluations, providing feedback to functional groups, including executive leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- 7-10 years of supervisory or project experience in a manufacturing process environment.
- 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
- 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with equipment such as fans, material handling (screw/belt conveyors, bucket elevators, airlocks, pneumatic conveying systems), and 480-volt electrical distribution.
- Experience with precision maintenance techniques.
- Skilled in using CMMS systems for entering work hours, work orders, parts usage, etc.
- Knowledge of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), RCA, and FMEA.
- Basic understanding of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), 5S, and lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to comply with corporate policies and Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulations.
- Proficient in measuring performance against KPIs and delivering routine reports, assessments, and data analysis on maintenance performance.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical design, machine design, and manufacturing systems.
- Expertise in electrical, electronic, and digital systems (motors, controls, instruments, power distribution, etc.).
- Strong understanding of complex mathematical analysis, calculus, and design/troubleshooting processes.
- Ability to interpret safety rules, operating manuals, blueprints, schematics, and process diagrams.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification.
- Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and related engineering practices.
- Strong cost/capital analysis and justification skills.
- Proficient communication skills with the ability to interact with suppliers, contractors, and employees.
- Experience with IFS systems.
- Strong organizational, technical, troubleshooting, and mechanical aptitude
