Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Reliability Engineer to lead reliability and maintenance initiatives across multiple manufacturing facilities in Nevada. In this hybrid role, you will spend roughly 50% of your time traveling among our plants (Fernley, Las Vegas, Lovelock, Reno) to collaborate with onsite teams and drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, performance, and safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background in both mechanical and electrical systems, extensive experience in industrial maintenance, and a proven ability to analyze and optimize complex processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Reliability Strategy & Implementation
- Develop and implement reliability strategies to minimize downtime and improve equipment performance.
- Conduct failure analysis and lead continuous improvement projects using RCA (Root Cause Analysis), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and other industry best practices.
- Ensure all activities comply with corporate policies and Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) regulations.
- Maintenance Program Management
- Provide guidance on precision maintenance techniques and lead the implementation of standard maintenance procedures.
- Leverage CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule, track, and document work orders, parts usage, labor hours, and maintenance history.
- Collaborate with plant managers and maintenance supervisors to prioritize projects, allocate resources, and maintain high levels of equipment reliability.
- Equipment & System Optimization
- Oversee industrial equipment performance—including fans, screw / belt conveyors, bucket elevators, airlocks, pneumatic conveying systems, and 480-volt electrical distribution.
- Conduct performance analyses against KPIs and generate routine reports, assessments, and data-driven recommendations.
- Utilize advanced mathematical and engineering principles (including calculus) to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Project Leadership & Team Coordination
- Manage multiple reliability and maintenance projects, ensuring goals and timelines are met.
- Lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with other departments (Production, EHS, Quality, etc.) to implement reliability enhancements.
- Present findings, project updates, and improvement plans to senior leadership and stakeholders.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure all procedures and practices align with company safety policies and MSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and training sessions to foster a culture of proactive safety awareness.
