We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing assistance as needed.
- Schedule appointments and manage the calendar for healthcare providers.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details.
- Process patient check-ins and check-outs efficiently.
- Handle medical billing tasks, including coding with ICD-9 and managing Medicare claims.
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record systems such as Athenahealth or Dentrix.
- Perform 10 key typing for data entry and ensure all information is up-to-date.
- Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries or directing calls to appropriate staff members.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized reception area.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a medical office or hospital setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical billing processes and insurance claims, particularly Medicare.
- Proficiency in using medical software applications such as Dentrix or Athenahealth is a plus.
- Strong computer skills with the ability to perform 10 key typing accurately.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on patient care and customer service.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical administration is advantageous.
