Job Description Summary
Timely and accurate verification of patient eligibility and benefits is essential for the proper administration of patient care and provider payments. It is imperative that the patient eligibility is confirmed within the specified timeframe and for the date of service. Verification of benefits to provide patient education and payment receipt at the first opportunity is critical to ensure that provider payment is accurate and timely, e.g., co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles for each service be communicated to the patient and entered correctly into the system.
Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Identify upcoming patient appointments no more than 2-3 days prior to scheduled day
- Submit and follow up on all referrals and tasks in a timely manner. Log on to payer system if necessary to verify patient is active and eligible for services
- Identify patient coverage, financial responsibility
- Scan applicable documents into patient record
- Update patient record so that all staff has visibility of information
- Communicates appropriately using good interpersonal skills: Positive, professional demeanor is projected through verbal and non-verbal communications.
- Information for patients and staff is delivered in a manner that is supportive, timely and understandable.Interpersonal conflicts are resolved using appropriate methods and organizational resources.Diverse perspectives are acknowledged; language and behaviors are modeled that build inclusiveness in the work environment.Ideas and suggestions are clearly communicated.Clarification of communication is requested when appropriate.

Position Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong written and oral English communication skills
- Working knowledge of Medicaid/Medicare, insurance verification, and Referral processing
- Strong computer skills
- Referral submission experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.50 - $21.00 per hour
