Position Summary
The Medical Receptionist for the Visiting Physicians Division will manage administrative tasks to support our home-based healthcare services. You will be the first point of contact for patients and their families, coordinating appointments, managing patient records, and providing administrative support to our visiting physicians. Your role will ensure that our patients receive timely, compassionate care in the comfort of their homes.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and take messages for visiting physicians.
- Schedule home visits for patients, ensuring that appointments align with the physician’s schedule.
- Verify patient information and update medical records in the EMR system.
- Process and file insurance forms, ensuring accurate billing for home visits.
- Communicate with patients and families to provide updates and confirm appointments.
- Assist with coordinating logistics for visiting physicians, including organizing patient routes.
- Provide excellent customer service, maintaining a professional and empathetic demeanor when interacting with patients, families, and healthcare staff.
- Support the visiting physicians’ team with other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience as a receptionist or in a customer service role, preferably in a healthcare setting, is a plus.
- Proficient in EMR systems and general computer usage.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and strong communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Bilingual skills (if applicable) are a plus.
