To optimize manufacturing operations across the organization, the Manufacturing / Project Engineer will examine existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and design and implement new processes to meet operational needs. Furthermore, the Manufacturing / Project Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that production is alerted in the event of a process change or innovation. They will also provide data analysis on business processes through data captured in ERP system, documenting data through KPI metrics and tracking.
To assist with the Engineering Team, they will also be responsible for the design and creation of engineering documents based on given specifications, used to create products within the associated production process. They will also perform engineering functions required to assist with improvement on existing products and their related manufacturing processes through observations and analysis.
Essential Job Functions
Interact with other departments such as customer service, sales, etc. for product training, design, and support.
Review and analyze the performance of various procedures within the company and make recommendations for improvements.
o Calculate, analyze, and update metrics and KPIs throughout the
organization.
Monitor, measure, and report on production related process
performance and general issues to enhance product quality and
maximize efficiency.
o Assess and develop our existing manufacturing processes and equipment to maximize efficiency, enhance safety, and improve quality.
Throughout the development and modifications to the processes
assemble participation of the affected employees and inclusion of
their feedback and ideas.
Ensure equipment functionality by resolving production
equipment problems quickly and effectively to achieve production
objectives and requirements.
Support efforts to create and sustain a waste-reduction culture, as well as to improve product and process quality on a continuous and sustained basis.
o Creates and maintains databases for product history and testing (aspects such as materials, wear life, performance, manufacturing time, etc.).
o Analyzes product failures that occur during the production process
and / or in the customers field application of the product to determine
causes and present solutions to failures.
o Analyze and plan workflow, equipment placement and space
requirements to improve manufacturing efficiency and safety.
Lead, coordinate, and participate in Lean projects focused on product and quality system improvements.
Support distribution of manufacturing operations, strategy, control systems, tools, and metrics to accurately measure progress, identify root causes of failure modes, production capacity, and quality.
Research and implement capital projects through sound project management and coordination of resources.
Oversee and perform experimental manufacture and testing of product.
Set targets, strategies, and schedule various projects to achieve set goals in manufacturing.
Involved in the review / implementation of Capital Projects.
Design, create, and update drawings both manually and with the use of a computer aided drafting system.
o 90% using AutoCAD Autodesk 2022 [2-Dimensional]
o 10% using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2021 [3-Dimensional].
Enter, purge, and maintain data within different documents and systems.
o Involves creating, updating and maintaining BOMs of Part Numbers and Work Orders.
o Part Number Creation in an ERP System (Infor XA).
o EXCEL Tooling List Updates / Entries, Data Analysis, Etc.
o Costing Documentation of Part Numbers.
Visit customer and vendor sites, if applicable.
Assist in training, guidance, and coaching to employees in a consistent and constructive manner.
Attend meetings as required and complete the required paperwork, reports, and support functions.
Participate in the company's annual capital budgeting process.

Requirements and Qualifications
Requires an associate degree in engineering or else equivalent education and experience, preferably in an elastomer and / or steel component manufacturing environment. Typically requires two or more years of engineering experience. Knowledge or previous experience within the mining and / or aggregate industries preferred.
