What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistant, Summer School, Tennis - Athletics position at Punahou School?
At the Tennis Department, the Teaching Assistant provides a supportive role to the lead Punahou Professional/Instructor with on-court responsibilities. The on-court Teaching Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support the lead instructors with on-court responsibilities, supervision, and execution of the daily lesson plans.
- Assisting the lead instructors with daily on-court instruction.
- Take attendance daily.
- Checking students in/out.
- On-court set-up and break-down.
- Work Year: 1.5 Months
- School Year: Summer School 2025, June - July
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, Hours vary from 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM
- Hourly Rate: $25.00/Hour
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience playing competitive tennis.
- Familiarity and agreement to abide by Punahou School's covid practices and protocols.
- Possesses a respectful, responsible and resourceful disposition with a willingness and ability to improve based on feedback from the instructors.
- Serves as an ambassador for the school to families and in the community.
- Fosters an environment in which students feel safe to investigate curriculum, discover the world in which they live and learn about themselves.
- Effectively and appropriately communicates with peers, faculty, students, and parents and engages in positive collaboration with colleagues.
- Experience working with younger children is preferred.
