Position: HR Operations Specialist

The Opportunity: The HR Operations Specialist will function as a “hands on” contributor to HR processes and procedures. You will be familiar with company policies and procedures and adherence to all local, state and federal requirements, including but not limited to EEO, ADA, FLSA, and FMLA.
What You Will Do:
- Document and process changes including hires, terminations/separations, and salary actions in the HRIS
- Administer bi-weekly employee payroll
- Assist with the management of employee leaves consistent with the requirements of FMLA as well as internal processes and procedures related to leave administration
- Ensure proper day-to-day administration of benefit changes and enrollments
- Conduct new hire on-boarding and orientation
- Coordinate employee off-boarding activities
- Work directly with the Sr. HR Operations Manager to manage daily workflow with excellent organizational skills
- Stay current on state/federal employment laws and company policies
- Evaluate critical information in the HRIS and examine scheduled reports to ensure 100% accuracy and delivery rates
- Provide direction and clarification for employees to ensure consistent application of company policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Maintain a repository of forms, handbooks, policies, or other documents that are needed by employees
- Develop comprehensive HRIS reports, such as turnover and retention reports, new hires, leave reports, census reporting, etc.
- Collect, compile, and analyze HR data, metrics, and statistics and apply this data to make recommendations related to HR disciplines and legal compliance
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate HR functions with business operations
- Identify process improvements through technology and best practices to increase efficiency and improve service delivery
- Participate in HR special projects and other duties as assigned
The Experience You Will Bring:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3 years of human resources experience including HRIS, Payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, FMLA, federal and local employment laws
- Strong computer skills MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams
- Excel user with demonstrated experience manipulating data and writing formulas
- Proficient experience working in ADP Workforce Now HRIS (preferred)
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written - with the ability to handle sensitive situations; requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy
- Ability to self-manage, show initiative and be proactive
- Work well under pressure, effectively managing multiple projects with competing priorities, diverse audiences, and adaptable to changing needs
- Bias for action, attention to detail, strong work ethic and desire to achieve excellence
- Ability to understand business operations from a tactical perspective
- Ability to understand the company culture and act as a change agent to evolve the organization through HR initiatives and systems
