Position Overview
The student web developer will be responsible for maintaining an existing departmental web site by creating, updating, and removing content from web pages on a regular basis. The web developer will expand the functionality of the web site by utilizing new technologies to better improve communication and interaction with web site users. The position is available immediately.
The ideal candidate must display excellent written and oral skills with interpersonal and organization abilities. A candidate for this position should be able to identify, plan, and implement improvements to the web site and related materials for public dissemination.

Essential Job Functions
- Maintain and enhance existing website functionality and improve user experience.
- Proficient use of Internet related applications such as FTP clients and web browsers.
- Code web pages utilizing HTML/XHTML, CSS and programming languages including JavaScript, PHP and MySQL (and combinations of languages: AJAX).
- Deploy updates to the website through an SSH client.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate with and teach non-technical users.
- Able to work independently and efficiently.
- Additional duties as negotiated to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Requirements
- Must possess exceptional skills in HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript.
- Must possess exceptional skills in PHP, MySQL, and PHPMyAdmin.
- Prefer experience in a PHP web framework such as Symfony, Laravel, or CakePHP.
- Prefer experience in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
- Basic photo editing skills (resizing, cropping, scaling resolution)
- Graphic design experience a plus.
