About the Role:

Support Administrative Operations as we help to build a dynamic, future-focused campus, our Operations and Maintenance team plays a critical role in ensuring our facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing university and help shape the foundation of our physical campus from the ground up.


The Building Maintenance Technician will oversee and manage third-party vendors performing contracted facility services while also handling minor maintenance tasks to ensure the efficient and safe operation of the buildings and their systems. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with a strong background in facility maintenance and vendor management. You will act as the primary point of contact for the facility vendors and ensure all services meet Purdue University standards, budgets, and timelines. This position performs a variety of repair and maintenance duties on building structures and systems for Operations and Maintenance. These activities include but are not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, and locksmithing. Respond to and prioritize work orders. Troubleshoot to diagnose problems and determine repair or maintenance needs.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage third-party vendors performing contracted facility services

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 4 years of related work experience.


Required Skills:

  • Strong background in facility maintenance
  • Vendor management experience
  • Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, carpentry, painting, plastering, and locksmithing
  • Ability to prioritize work orders
  • Troubleshooting skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Associate's degree in a related field
  • Certifications in facility maintenance
  • Experience working in an educational institution
