Overview of Business Specialist
The Business Managers Department is seeking a Business Specialist to join their team. The Business Management Office coordinates the business aspects of the university's academic departments, colleges, and administrative units. This position has the flexibility to work in a hybrid work environment by working remote as well as on campus.

Reconcile account receivables between the student information system and the financial general ledger system on a weekly basisDistribute income to the various accounts within the central income pool, academic units, and administrative areas within Standard Operating Procedures established for the education partner programCreate, analyze and make recommendations to the department related to monthly financial reports for the income clearing accounts based on University policy and proceduresCreate accounting documents as needed to ensure accuracy of the financial records and communicate to all appropriate partiesMonitor on a daily basis the student's enrollment status and ensure communication to the education partner is made timely and accuratelyCommunicate daily, weekly, and monthly to the education partners any changes to the enrollment status of students enrolled in the various programsIdentify courses for each carousel, create detail codes, establish fees per course, enter contracts as neededWork with Enrollment Services and academic units to ensure all courses are set up accurately and timelyCommunicate to the enrollment management team, student, faculty, and administrators as neededManage the relationship between PNW, KNA and Purdue Online for financial related mattersDevelop procedures in collaboration with KNA staff and Purdue Online staff to efficiently and effectively provide useful reporting to all partiesLead continuous improvement processSupervise support staff for the RN / BSN and MSN programsSupervision includes training, monitoring, evaluating progress and establishing goalsReview work completed by support staff for accuracy, timeliness and relevanceBenefits of Business Specialist

Education of Business Specialist
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or BusinessAssociate Degree in accounting or related field and three years of related experience will also be consideredHigher Education experience is preferredExperience of Business Specialist
Two years' business, accounting, payroll, or other related experience is requiredCore Competencies of Business Specialist
Understanding of business / fiscal policies and proceduresDemonstrated knowledge of PC software including Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point, data query, and Internet requiredMust have an understanding of budgeting, financial analysis, problem solving, organizational skills, quality customer service, and excellent communication skillsAbility to analyze, interpret, and communicate University policies and proceduresMust have ability to build relationships among a diverse workforce at all levelsExperience utilizing SAP and Banner software systems preferredMust be able to work independently with minimal supervisionAs business needs arise employees may be required to travel between campuses and / or be reassigned to a different campus locationAdditional Information
